Plot summary

Contrary to the philosophies of Singham (Ajay Devgn), Simmba Sangram "Simmba" Bhalerao (Ranveer Singh) believes that a corrupt Officer's life is an ideal life which inspires him to become one. To begin with, the film starts with an introduction to Simmba as an orphan in Shivgad. His "handler" trains him to pick pockets, which gets him arrested. The handler pays a bribe to get him released and Simmba realizes the power of Police. Soon, a chain of events follows, and local goon Durva Yashwant Ranade (Sonu Sood) predicts, "He's a little cracker who'll spark a big explosion one day." The little one grows up to become a cop who believes in doing 'Beimaani with full Imaandaari'. Simmba lets off criminals in exchange for bribes.When Simmba gets transferred to Miramar Police Station (he is told by Home Minister Vinayak Dutta (Uday Tikekar) to stay away from Durva Ranade, who is now the state don of Goa), he comes across Shagun Sathe (Sara Ali Khan) and instantly falls in love with her. Shagun is the daughter of an honest cop who was killed in action by corrupt forces of the state. Simmba closes Durva's illegal businesses to get his attention & that of his brothers Gaurav Ranade (Saurabh Gokhale) and Sadashiv Ranade (Amrit Singh). But Simmba simply asks for more bribe from him. In the process he meets Durva's wife Varsha Ranade (Shri Swara Dubey) and Mother Bharti Ranade (Sarita Joshi). As expected, cupid's arrow strikes Shagun as well and the two oscillate between 'Aankh Maare' and some Swiss romance. On the work front, Simmba finds a perfect foil in Head Constable Nityanand Mohile (Ashutosh Rana) who disagrees with his principles and corrupt practices.Durva is using school kids to ferry drugs across Goa. Aakruti Dave (Vaidehi Parshurami) is a local teacher who figures this out. She reports the matter to Simmba, who asks her to relax. Simmba has a soft corner for teacher as it was a teacher who gave him education to become a police inspector. Durva then uses Simmba to strong-arm Vaman Rao (Arun Nalawade) into selling his farmland to Corporator David Cameron (Vipin Sharma) for far below market rates by kidnapping his granddaughter. Simmba gets Rs 50 Lakhs for this. Mohile screams at Simmba for this.Meanwhile Aakruti continues to investigate the drug trade, which lands her at a pub owned by Gaurav and Sadashiv. Her student Chotu (Sahil Joshi) makes a video of the drugs, but both are caught. Chotu escapes, but Aakruti is sexually assaulted by the brothers. Chotu finds Aakruti's friend Kavya (Neha Mahajan), who takes the evidence to Simmba. Simmba gets a call to bring the phone and Chotu to his house, but this time Simmba refuses. He sets his forces to find Aakruti, who find her barely alive. She dies in Simmba's arm taking the names of her assaulter.Simmba is enraged and arrests Sadashiv and Gaurav after his team recovers the evidence from the phone. Before the court hearing Durva kidnaps Chotu. In court, Simmba can't produce Chotu and the video file turns out corrupted. The defense attorney also produces an alibi placing Sadashiv and Gaurav at David's farmhouse on the night of the sexual assault. The judge Smita Parulkar (Ashwini Kalsekar) is about to release the accused, but Simmba makes a passionate plea to gain 2 day's time to produce his witness and evidence.Simmba beats up David Cameron when he refuses to confess the truth. This incident is recorded on video and goes viral. Simmba is suspended. Feeling cornered, Simmba gathers all the women in his life and orchestrates an encounter of Gaurav and Sadashiv inside the police station, which is recorded on CCTV camera. Durva's lawyer appeals to the judge to conduct at SIT investigation, But Durva is not satisfied and kidnaps SimmbaThe investigating officer is Singham, who rescues Simmba and asks him to tell the truth. Simmba admits. Singham produces Durva's wife and mother in court, who admit that Durva's brother conducted the sexual assault and murder. Singham also testifies that Simmba killed the brothers in self-defense. Court pronounces the brother guilty and sentences Durva to prison for attacking a police officer.
